Will see it through to completion
At the day of Jesus Christ,”
Then what does maturation look like
Between Death and Day?
What work goes on in the night of Heaven?
(Phil 1:6; Rev 4:8; 7:15; 22:5)
My eyes shed streams of tears,
For people do not obey your law.
Why has the obedience of faith been given to me and not them?
Why do you allow them to continue in haughty rebellion against you?
Glorify yourself in their salvation and not their destruction!
Instead of streams of tears from my eyes,
Let there be rivers of living water in their hearts!
(Ps 119:136; John 7:38)
How do I pray imprecation over my enemies
While loving them?
“Let burning coals fall upon them!”
They have fallen on mine:
My enemy gave me bread of heaven when I was hungry,
Water of life when most thirsty.
“May they lie fallen, thrust down, never to rise!”
I am crucified with Christ;
May the old man stay rotting!
Jesus “maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him”:
Crucified with Christ my enemy,
Buried with Christ my Savior,
Raised with Christ my life,
Sanctified with Christ my Redeemer,
Glorified with Christ my Brother-Lord.
(Ps 140:10; Prov 25:21-22; Ps 36:12; Gal 2:20; Rom 6:6; Prov 16:7; Rom 6:5-11)
May the peace of Christ be
Not a Band-Aid slapped on what is wrong with life
But life itself
Upon which calamity is only a scrape
And which the power of God will heal.
You who are of purer eyes than to look on sin,
Purify my eyes to behold your goodness.
(Hab 1:3; 1 John 3:2-3)
